Living Options : Memory Support

Memory Support in a setting that feels like home.

Lutheran Crossings offers two areas for residents who may benefit from memory support services. Both of these areas provide a secure environment with personalized care. Residents in the earlier stages of dementia or Alzheimer’s reside within the Assisted Living community while those who need more medical care live in the skilled nursing neighborhood. This two-tiered approach allows residents to move from one level of care to the next when necessary with minimal disruption.

Planned group and individual activities, including memory-strengthening programs, fitness classes, cards and other games, religious services and music sessions, keep residents active and engaged.  Our compassionate team members encourage residents to participate in our community life as much as possible.

At Lutheran Crossings, all memory support staff members receive specialized training in the art of helping those living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Through the development of care plans designed by our entire team of professionals, we create structured daily routines tailored to each individual’s need.

Understanding how difficult it often is for families with loved ones who experience memory loss, we also offer an Alzheimer’s support group every third Thursday each month.

Respite care to rejuvenate caregivers.

Caregiving for family member is a physically and emotionally demanding full-time job. It’s okay, and often necessary, to take a break. And it’s easier to take that break if you know that your loved one will be cared for by experienced, compassionate professionals in a safe, supportive environment.

Lutheran Crossings’ respite care program offers short-term care in any of our neighborhoods including assisted living, skilled nursing or memory support. The program provides benefits both to caregivers and their loved ones. Caregivers can take a few days or weeks to recharge, travel or take care of other needs with the peace of mind of knowing their loved one is receiving exceptional care while they are away.  Stays may be as brief as a weekend or as long as three months.
