MOORESTOWN, NJ – Residents at Lutheran Crossings Enhanced Living at Moorestown are enjoying their newly renovated beauty salon, thanks to the generosity of several donors.
Lutheran Crossings and Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey staff members joined together with residents and members of the Lutheran Crossings’ Auxiliary on September 21, 2016 to bless the senior living and care community’s remodeled resident beauty salon.
“Wow! What an amazing transformation,” exclaimed Carol-Anne Peacock, assistant vice president, branch manager at Maple Shade, as she stepped into the renovated space. “This is just wonderful. It’s so important for the residents to have a place to come and feel good – and this space will definitely accomplish that.”
During the blessing led by Reverend Lisa Barnes, chaplain for Lutheran Crossings, attendees were addressed by Sherry Outten, executive director & vice president of Lutheran Crossings, Colleen Frankenfield, president & CEO of Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey, and Saralynne McDowell, community life director & volunteer coordinator.
“Just like any one of us, our residents look forward to having their hair cut and styled,” shared McDowell. “Our beauty salon is not only a place where residents come to socialize, but it is also a place where residents can look in the mirror and feel good about the reflection they see in it as a loved child of God. Our newly renovated salon will be a place where new and wonderful transformations bless our residents for many years to come.”
Renovations to the beauty salon were made possible through a collection of funds generated by the Dorothea Partch Trust, and donated by Roma Bank Community Foundation, and Investors Foundation.
